Website to learn about herbs

Mrs. Veena George, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, inaugurated the State Medicinal Plants Board website. The website provides information about approximately 400 herbs and their primary uses. Users can explore this herbal database, which contains herbs utilised in Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Siddha, Folk Medicine, and Allopathy. The website includes the well-known names of plants in Kerala and lists their names in Sanskrit, Hindi, Tamil, and English. Additionally, users can view pictures of plants, leaves, flowers, and fruits to familiarise themselves with medicinal plants around us. The website also contains information about the activities, schemes, projects, medicinal plant nurseries, farmers, markets, and more concerning the State Medicinal Plants Board in Kerala.

Health Department Principal Secretary Mohammad Hanish, Medicinal Plants Board Chief Executive Officer Dr T.K. Dr Hrithik, Director, Department of Indian Systems of Medicine. Dr. K. S. Priya, Director, Department of Ayurvedic Medical Education. Sreekumar TD, the State Medicinal Plants Board members, and others were present.
