Description: Shrubs. Leaves elliptic-ovate to obovate, opposite. Flowers white, in axillary, trichotomous cymes, terminating the branches. Drupe pear-shaped, 4-lobed.

Properties & Uses: Whole plant is given in the form of tincture or decoction in intermittent fevers. Leaf and root juice is useful in scrofulous and venereal diseases. A bath with the leaf-boil water is recommended in mania and itches. Root boiled in oil is effective in rheumatism.
