Description: Large trees, bark grayish blotched with white and green. Leaves simple, alternate. Flowers bisexual, white, fragrant, in terminal panicles. Fruit a capsule, pale brown, tip acuminate; seed one.

Parts used: Bark, resin and seed oil
Properties & Uses: Depurative, expectorant and carminative. The bark is used to treat cough, asthma, leprosy, skin eruptions, ulcer, wounds, dysentery and anemia. The resin is useful in chronic bronchitis, tubercular glands, hemorrhoids, diarrhea and ring worm. The seed oil is used as an antibacterial and is useful in chronic rheumatism.
