Description: Slender, pubescent climbers; leaves opposite, ovate to oblong, acute or acuminate apex, base subcordate, entire, slightly pubescent on both sides. Flowers greenish-purplish or greenish-yellow, in umbellate cymes. Follicle oblong, tapering towards the apex, glabrous; seeds broadly ovate.

Properties & Uses: Anti-asthmatic, expectorant and anti-rheumatic. Roots are used in chronic bronchitis, asthma, early stages of whooping cough and relieving pain due top gout. The powdered root is used for treating intermittent fever and root paste is used in jaundice. The decoction of leaves or root is useful for treating bronchial asthma, diarrhea and dysentery.
