Description: Small trees. Leaves simple, opposite, estipulate. Flowers bisexual, reddish-purple, in axillary and terminal paniculate cymes. Fruit a drupe, globose; seed one.

Habitat: Lateritic areas, also grown in homesteads
Flowering & Fruiting: November-December

Parts used: Heartwood
Properties & Uses: Cooling, sedative, diuretic and expectorant. Heart wood is used for the treatment of headache, skin diseases, inflamed swellings, burns and ulcers.
