  • Distribution: Pantropical
  • Description: Stout shrubs; branched virgate, usually pinkish, glabrous. Leaves alternate or fascicled oblong-oblanceolate, obtuse, sessile. Flowers pink or purple, solitary axillary or in few flowered cymes. Drupe with 4, 1-seeded pyrenes, free, yellowish, smooth.

  • Properties & Uses: Diuretic and laxative. It is effective against kidney stones and bladder stones. Also used as a remedy for coughs, heart problems, blood disorders, fever, diabetes, poisoning, ulcer and uterine diseases.
