  • Distribution: Endemic to Peninsular India
  • Description: Medium trees. Leaves usually imparipinnate, leaflets 3, rarely 4-5. Flowers yellow, borne a few together in simple or sparingly branched racemes. Fruits obliquely orbicular, woolly; seeds 1-2, reddish-brown, smooth, leathery.

  • Properties & Uses: Anti-pyretic, astringent and anthelmintic. Heartwood is used for removing scars, improving complexion and purifying blood. It is also used for the treatment of skin diseases, vomiting, eye diseases, headache, inflammations and ulcers.
