Description: Small trees. Leaves imparipinnate, alternate. Flowers bisexual, purplish-white, in lax axillary racemes. Fruit a pod, obliquely oblong, flat, thick, indehiscent, slightly falcate; seed one, reniform.

Properties & Uses: Anthelmintic, digestive and laxative. Decoction of the root and bark is used for cleaning foul ulcers, wounds and gonorrhea. Bark is used in the treatment of beriberi, ophthalmopathy, dermatopathy, vaginopathy and ulcers. Leaves are used to treat diarrhea, leprosy, gonorrhea and cough. Hot infusion of the leaves is good for cleaning ulcers and wounds. Seeds are used in chronic fevers and anemia.
