Description: Erect herbs. Leaves oblong, apex obtuse to acute. Flowers greenish-white, male towards tip of branchlets, solitary, axillary. Capsule globose; seeds 6, trigonous, vertically muriculate.

Properties & Uses: Cooling, diuretic, febrifuge and antiseptic. The whole plant is used to treat jaundice, chronic dysentery, dyspepsia, cough, indigestion, diabetes, urino-genital system, scabies, wounds, skin diseases, ulcer, sores and swelling.

Traditional Uses:The whole plant ground well into paste form, a goose berry size paste mixed with goat milk and taken internally for 7 days twice daily to cure jaundice.
