  • Description: Trailing herbs. Leaves, linear-lanceolate. Flowers axillary, solitary or few-flowered cymes, yellow with a purplish eye. Capsules sub globose; seeds 4, glabrous, brown.

  • Habitat: Deciduous forests, also in the plains

  • Properties & Uses: Whole plant is used in rheumatism, kidney stones and herpes. Boiled and mashed leaves are applied to the abdomen in cases of retention of urine. Roots are useful in piles, inflammation of spleen, pain in the chest and liver.
