  • Distribution: Indo-Malesia and Australia
  • Description: Small trees. Leaves simple, alternate. Flowers unisexual, brick red, terminal spicate panicles. Fruit a capsule, globose, 3-lobed, loculicidally 3 valved; seeds 1-4, globose, glabrous, black.

  • Habitat: Semi-evergreen, moist deciduous and evergreen forests, also in the plains
