  • Description: Medium trees. Leaves simple, alternate, crowded at the tip of branchlets, estipulate. Flowers bisexual, yellowish-white, in axillary subterminal fascicle. Fruit a berry; seed one.

  • Habitat: Banks of rivers in evergreen and semi-evergreen forests, also in the plains

  • Properties & Uses: Flowers are soaked in water and used for the treatment of kidney complaints. Fruits are anthelmintic and it is used to treat rheumatism, biliousness and asthma. Seed oil is used to treat rheumatism.
