Description: Undershrubs. Leaves ovate-suborbicular, 3-5-palmilobed. Flowers creamy-yellow with dark purplish center, axillary, solitary. Capsules ovoid or conical; seeds angular, brownish-black.

Properties & Uses: Leaves are used in intestinal disorders. A lotion or ointment of the leaf and stem is used for the treatment of penile irritation, including venereal sores and urethritis. An infusion is also used as an injection into the urethra and vagina for gonorrhea and other inflammations. Mucilaginous flowers are much used as an emollient and pectoral.
