  • Distribution: Indo-Malesia
  • Description: Erect shrubs. Leaves 3-7-foliolate; leaflets subopposite, elliptic-lanceolate. Flowers creamy-yellow, terminal or axillary. Berry ovoid, white turning pink, 1-2-seeded.
  • Habit: Shrub
  • Habitat: Semi-evergreen and moist deciduous forests, also in the plains

  • Parts used: Whole plant
  • Properties & Uses: Whole plant is used for cough, rheumatism, anaemia and jaundice. Leaf juice is given with sugar in empty stomach in morning to eradicate ascaris. Leaves juice is given in fever and liver complaints. Paste of leaves with ginger is used in eczema and skin affections.
