Description: Scandent shrubs; young stem densely brown pubescent. Leaves ovate to elliptic. Flowers in dense axillary racemes, crowded in dense panicles at top of branches. Fruit a drupe with 5 spreading accrescent calyx lobes; seed single.

Properties & Uses: Laxative, diaphoretic and anthelmintic. Leaf juice is given in fever and body pain. The fruit is used for the treatment of jaundice, skin diseases and ulcer. The root is used in the treatment of snake bite.
