  • Distribution: Peninsular India
  • Description: Erect herbs with unbranched globose leaf sheaths formed into a pseudo-stem. Leaves spirally arranged, entire with channeled midrib; lateral nerves many, parallel from midrib. Spadix with 3-5 spathes at base. Flowers many on each bract; unisexual, female flowers towards the base, male flowers above. Fruit oblong; seeds few, subglobose, black.
