  • Description: Erect or diffuse herbs. Leaves radical and cauline. Heads homogamous, not rayed, long slender peduncles. Flower pink or rose, bisexual. Achenes 5-ribbed, hispid. Pappus white silky.

  • Habitat: Moist deciduous forests, also in the plains

  • Parts used: Whole plant
  • Properties & Uses: Anti-pyretic and anti-asthmatic. The plant paste is used to relieve cuts and wounds. The juice of the fresh leaves is used to relieve sore ears, sore eyes and night blindness. The leaves are rubbed on the forehead to relieve head ache. The root is used to treat diarrhea.
