Distribution: Indo-Malesia and China
Description: Woody climbers. Leaves ovate, base cordate, apex acuminate, glabrous. Flowers green or yellowish green, fragrant in axillary cymes, umbel like. Follicle long, turgid, longitudinally ribbed, velvety until mature; seeds elliptic, concave, smooth, shining, sharp-edged, crowned with very fine, white, silky hairs.

Properties & Uses: Young leaves are used in the treatment of fever in children, leaves applied to boils and abscesses, leaves and unripe fruits in asthma, cough, antidote for rat poison. Leaves wrapped in cloth and used as pillows by sleepless people.
