  • Description: Trees. Leaves simple, alternate, spiral. Flowers bisexual, fascicled on old branches, yellow, fragrant. Fruit aggregate of berries, drooping, yellow, orange or red; seeds numerous, ovoid, black.

  • Properties & Uses: Anti-rheumatic and antiseptic. Bark is used to cure piles, fresh bark powder applied on cuts, wounds, sores and insect bites. Root and bark made into paste and applied in rheumatism. Bark and leaves decoction is used against diarrhea. Fruit juice mixed with sugar a cooling beverage in fever, pimples and cough.
