  • Description: Woody climbers. Leaves alternate, pinnate, oblong-lanceolate. Racemes to 12 cm; lax. Flowers rose-white. Pod ovoid or orbicular, base and apex obtuse, winged; seeds 1 or 2.

  • Habitat: Along banks of backwaters and mangrove forests

  • Properties & Uses: Stimulant and antiseptic. Leaf juice taken for chronic dysentery. Bark used in rheumatism and chronic paralysis. Root decoction used externally against fever and internally against sores. Root bark and stems as fish poison and insecticide.
