Description: Woody climbers. Leaf pinnately compound, leaflets elliptic, lanceolate or ovate-oblong. Racemes axillary with flowers clustered on brown-pubescent rachis. Flowers pink or white. Pods oblong, narrowly winged on the upper suture; seeds ca. 8 mm long, reniform, compressed, dark brown.

Habitat: Deciduous forests, also in mangrove forests and sacred groves

Parts used: Root, bark and stem
Properties & Uses: Diuretic, laxative, anti-pyretic and expectorant. Bark paste applied against poison; decoction given internally for snake bite. Stem is used in the treatment of common cold and back ache. Roots given orally to increase lactation after child birth.
