Description: Twiners. Leaves ovate, apex acute or acuminate, base cordate, 4-8 ribbed. Panicles to 20 x 7 cm, rachis pubescent. Flowers greenish yellow, densely packed towards the branch tips, sessile. Drupe, subglobose.

Properties & Uses: Roots are bitter, acrid, digestive, carminative, anthelmintic, constipating, anti-inflammatory, depurative, febrifuge and diuretic. Roots are used to treat cough, bronchitis, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, dysentery, dropsy, painful swellings, leprosy, skin diseases, pruritus, fever, ulcers and wounds. Leaves are cooling and ophthalmic and they are used to treat dandruff and burning sensation of the eye and fever.
