  • Description: Erect subshrubs, to 2.5 m tall, stoloniferous; stem scarcely branched. Leaves simple, opposite, 7-18 x 8-19 cm, orbicular, margin faintly lobed, denticulate, apex acute, base cordate, membranous; basally 7-nerved; petiole to 10 cm long. Flowers in terminal panicles of dichotomous cymes; pedicels reddish, 6-14 mm long. Calyx deeply 5-lobed, red, campanulate, 3-5 mm long; lobes oblong, obtuse. Corolla red, hypocrateriform; tube slender, 1.4-2 cm long; lobes 7-8 mm long, posterior pair shorter and narrower than the others. Stamens exserted; filaments 2-3 cm long. Ovary oblong.
