  • Distribution: Probably indigenous in India
  • Description: Shrubs or small trees. Leaves simple, alternate. Inflorescence axillary, racemes, few-flowered. Flowers white, bisexual. Fruits a hesperidium, ovoid-oblong, yellowish; seeds numerous.
  • Habit: Shrub
  • Habitat: Cultivated in homesteads
  • Flowering & Fruiting: March-October

  • Parts used: Fruit, root and buds.
  • Properties & Uses: Root is anthelmintic. Fruits are used for the treatment of tumours, sore throat, cough, asthma, thirst, hiccough, vomiting, urinary calculus, caries of teeth and removes colic. Buds and flowers are stimulant and astringent; it used to treat abdominal complains, asthma, cough and hiccough.
