Description: Aromatic rhizomatous herbs. Leaves linear or linear-lanceolate, convolute, glaucous; sheaths to 30 cm long, keeled. Racemes to 14 cm long, whorled. Spikelets in pairs, dissimilar. Flowers yellowish-green or olive-green. Sessile spikelets 3-5 mm long, lanceolate. Palea oblong.
