Distribution: India and Upper Myanmar
Description: Large trees, bole straight, buttressed; bark, thick, surface grey-brown, exfoliation small, irregular; blaze yellowish, aromatic; exudation brownish-black. Flowers polygamous, bright yellow; in large axillary panicles. Fruit a drupe, ellipsoid, dark blue, 1-3-celled; seeds 1-3.

Properties & Uses: Bark decoction as a bath for skin eruptions. An infusion taken for colic. Gum used with gingelly oil in rheumatic pain. Decoction or powder of resin given internally as a remedy for cough, fever, epilepsy, asthma, syphilis, blood impurities, hernia, chronic skin diseases and haemorrhage.
