Description: Medium trees. Leaves broadly elliptic-oblong or obovate, cuneate to rounded at base. Raceme axillary. Flowers polygamous, white, fragrant. Drupes globose to obovoid, smooth; stone subglobose, ca 2 cm across.

Parts used: Bark, flowers, resin and seed oil
Properties & Uses: Bark is used to treat ulcers and inflammations of the eye and internal haemorrhage. The plant juice is used as a purgative. The oil extracted from seed kernels shows strong antibacterial properties and is used in the treatment of scabies, skin diseases, gonorrhoea and gleet. The seed oil is used for the treatment of joint pain.
