  • Description: Woody climbers. Leaves bipinnate, ovate or elliptic-oblong. Racemes supra-axillary or terminal, many-flowered, yellow; seeds 1 or 2, sub globose, greyish-white.

  • Habitat: Evergreen and moist deciduous forests, also in sacred groves
  • Flowering & Fruiting: March-May

  • Parts used: Root bark, leaves and seeds
  • Properties & Uses: Anthelmintic, anti-pyretic, expectorant and febrifuge. The root bark is used to treat fever, cough, asthma, intestinal worms, colic and dyspepsia. The seeds are used in inflammations, cough, asthma, leprosy, skin diseases and dysentery.
