  • Distribution: Pantropic
  • Description: Twiners, stem hispid. Leaves broadly orbicular, deeply 5-9 lobed. Flowers white or pink, subsessile in axillary, capitate clusters. Capsule ovoid, brown; seeds, pubescent, black.

  • Habitat: Deciduous forests, also in the plains
  • Flowering & Fruiting: September-December

  • Parts used: Whole plant
  • Properties & Uses: Purgative. The whole plant is used to treat boils, carbuncles and antidote to dog bites. Leaves are applied as a poultice to relieve boils and sores. The root is used as a purgative.
